Mt. Kilimanjaro

Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Roof of Africa!

Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s tallest mountain, with its highest peak, Uhuru, soaring to 5,895 masl (19,341 feet). It is located in Tanzania and is the highest free-standing mountain in the world. This majestic volcano is renowned for its breathtaking beauty: from the vast, windswept Shira Plateau and the dramatic Barranco Wall, to the surreal Kibo Crater, crowned by the ancient ice of Furtwängler Glacier and Rebmann Glacier, with the rugged silhouette of Mawenzi Peak standing watch nearby.

Kilimanjaro’s peak stands tall from every angle, never shy about its grandeur. From miles away, it shows off its snow-capped summit gleaming against the sky, rising tall above the clouds. Climbing Kilimanjaro feels like walking through several worlds in one journey. You start in a green, misty rainforest, pass through open moorland and quiet alpine desert, and end on a snowy summit as the sun rises. Every day looks different, and that’s part of the magic.

The mountain’s different routes, each with its own charm and challenges, lead trekkers through a variety of landscapes, making the climb not only a physical challenge but also a feast for the eyes.
