Hello, adventurer and summiter,
Here you are, right at the start of your adventure. Maybe you’re here to soak up the everyday culture of Moshi and Arusha, to track the Big Five on safari, to sink your toes into Zanzibar’s white sands, or to take on Africa’s rooftop itself. Whatever Tanzanian adventure you are dreaming of, you’re in the right place.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve guided thousands of explorers across Tanzania and led more than 200 Kilimanjaro expeditions on every route and in every season. I’ve seen people just like you surprise themselves again and again. And honestly? That’s what keeps it exciting for me: every new adventurer, brings a fresh story, new energy, and a reason to fall in love with the journey all over again.
Here’s what my fellow guides will tell you about me: Kilimanjaro summit night is my favorite. I barely sleep. Not because I’m nervous, but because I’m excited. There’s something magical about those final hours in the dark, the stars above, the symphony of footsteps and breathing sounds. That’s when the real adventure begins, and it’s also when I tune in most closely to each hiker. I believe each adventurer is unique. So while we plan carefully before the journey, the real tailoring happens during the trip. I watch, I listen, I adjust. Maybe you need a slower pace, maybe you thrive on conversation, maybe you just need someone to crack a terrible joke at 5,000 masl (I have plenty).
Speaking of which, I love singing and poetry, especially on summit nights. You’ll probably laugh inwardly, because at that altitude your lungs won’t let it out. But trust me, that quiet laughter has a way of carrying you through the next steep step.
I also strive to get you the best shots: the small details along the way. The kind of memories you’ll look back on and say, “Yes, I really lived that.” I want you to remember the moment exactly as it felt.
My greatest joy is watching you achieve a dream you once only imagined, and sometimes discovering new ones along the way. And here’s the thing: once is rarely enough. Kilimanjaro has a way of calling you back. So do the wildlife, the ocean breeze, the quiet trails, and the stories you haven’t lived yet. At IK-Expeditions, we hope to be your home for this climb, and for every adventure that follows. Make it a tradition. We’ll be here, ready to welcome you back like family.
See you where adventure awaits!

IK-Expeditions was born from a dream that began many years before the company itself existed. As a young schoolboy on a trip to Mount Kilimanjaro, Isack, the founder of IK-Expeditions, watched climbers pass by with excitement and determination. In that moment, a quiet ambition took root: to one day walk to the summit of the mountain that had left such a powerful impression on him.
In 2017, Isack returned to Kilimanjaro to begin working as a porter. From the beginning, he approached the work with curiosity and purpose, determined to understand every part of the journey. He learned directly from the mountain, working alongside porters, cooks, and guides, observing how teams operated, how climbers were supported, and what truly made a successful and safe ascent. Each climb deepened his knowledge, respect for the crews, and connection to the mountain.
During one climb, a client noticed Isack’s attention to detail, the care with which he carried her equipment, and the ease with which they could communicate. She offered to pay for his guide training. Grateful for her support and inspired by her belief in his potential, Isack completed his training and began guiding climbers professionally. That moment became the turning point for the journey that is now IK-Expeditions.
Today, IK-Expeditions reflects that journey. Built on firsthand knowledge of the mountain and a strong respect for the people who make every climb possible, the company offers carefully guided Kilimanjaro treks and adventure experiences across Tanzania. At its core, IK-Expeditions is about responsibility, safety, and genuine hospitality, creating an environment where every traveler feels supported, prepared, and at home from the first step to the last.
